Check Presentation
The documentary film titled Denver in Decay premiered on September 17, 2020 and has already garnered more than 88,000 views. The complete documentary is available for viewing here.
More than 750 Coloradans contributed to the production of the film through a crowdfunding campaign, raising $79,073.46. At the outset of this project, Mountain Time Media committed to not just shining a light on the ever-growing issues our community is facing, but to raising awareness for and supporting a solution. 25% of all proceeds were designated to fund the solution that is Step Denver. On October 6, 2020, Mountain Time Media presented a check to Step Denver in the amount of $19,768.37.
Step Denver’s Executive Director, Paul Scudo, was asked to contribute to the film, addressing the increasingly critical issue of addiction and homelessness in the City and County of Denver. After viewing the film, Paul said, "I am honored to have been asked to participate in what I consider to be an objective and accurate look at what is happening in our community. I am inspired by what Steffan and Jim are doing to bring awareness to the issue, but even more so encouraged that they are not only revealing the problem, but participating in a solution. We are truly grateful for their generous gift of proceeds from this documentary to our program and its mission to address and assist in reducing addiction and homelessness within the great City of Denver."
Director of Denver in Decay and Founder of Mountain Time Media Steffan Tubbs stated, "It is our honor to contribute to the honorable mission and to help further the success of Step Denver on behalf of those who believe in our film. Paul's comments in Denver in Decay are spot on and have opened eyes not only in Colorado, but across the country."
73% of Denver's unsheltered are men and two-thirds of homeless individuals report addiction as being the primary cause for their circumstances. While Step Denver does not take a political position concerning the perceived causes of the homelessness crisis, Step does have very specific beliefs about the solution to these problems.
